Human Services
At University of Phoenix, students interested in helping others can gain the key knowledge needed to work in the human services industry. Our integrated program includes academic instruction in the foundations of human services such as counseling,
social work and psychology. Depending upon the program selected, management skills such as planning, organizing, assessing and evaluating may be incorporated.
Human Services Programs:
Associate of Arts in Human Services Management
The Associate of Arts in Human Services Management degree program provides students a foundation of knowledge relating to the management of human services organizations. It offers an understanding of the roles of human services workers, public policy, multicultural practices, information technology, financial management and regulatory and ethical issues. Coursework in the concentration courses includes creating care plans, developing alternative funding strategies and determining the characteristics of good human services management.
Bachelor of Science in Human Services
The Bachelor of Science in Human Services program addresses the knowledge and basic skills used in the human services industry. The program integrates applied skills with academic instruction in the foundations of human services, drawn from such disciplines as counseling, social work and psychology. It is designed to help students develop the educational foundation and capabilities needed to provide services in a variety of community human services settings.
Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management
The Bachelor of Science in Human Services/Management program is designed to provide the knowledge and basic skills needed by managers in today's human services industry. The program combines academic instruction in the foundations of human services, such as counseling, social work, and psychology, with the management skills of planning, organizing leading, assessing and evaluating.
